Armenian youth in Toronto organized a demonstration in support of Armenian prisoners held in Azerbaijan, according to Mane Tandilyan, co-founder of the Country to Live party.
The protest took place at Toronto Eaton Centre, where participants dressed as Armenian prisoners of war held in Azerbaijan to raise awareness about their fate.
Following the demonstration, the participants marched through the streets of Toronto, symbolizing the prisoners and demanding their release. "The Armenian people worldwide are responsible for their compatriots," the statement read.
Since January 17, Azerbaijan has been conducting a fabricated trial against former military-political leaders of Artsakh. Among the accused are former Artsakh presidents Arkadi Ghukasyan, Bako Sahakyan, and Arayik Harutyunyan, as well as former Defense Army commander Levon Mnatsakanyan, former Foreign Minister Davit Babayan, and others.
The case of former state minister and philanthropist Ruben Vardanyan is being considered separately. He went on a 23-day hunger strike in protest against the judicial farce.
