German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will pay an official visit to Armenia and Azerbaijan from March 30 to April 2. According to the German presidential office, this will be the first visit of a federal president to both countries.
In Yerevan, Steinmeier is scheduled to meet with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. As part of his visit, he will tour the TUMO center and attend a cultural reception, reports Factor.am .
On the second day of his visit, he will travel to Dilijan, where he will meet Armenian female entrepreneurs and learn about urban development projects. His agenda also includes a visit to Lake Sevan to observe an Armenian church and a hydro-meteorological monitoring station.
During his stay in Baku, Steinmeier will meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. A discussion on tolerance and interfaith understanding, involving Christian, Muslim, and Jewish religious leaders, is planned. He will also participate in a session on women's issues in Azerbaijan.
