In an extraordinary session of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration Issues, Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan reported a 154% increase in trade turnover with EAEU countries in 2024.
He highlighted that trade with Russia experienced a substantial rise of 156.5%, while with Belarus, it grew by 109.1%, as reported by Aysor.am .
According to Papoyan, trade turnover with Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan decreased to some extent: specifically, with Kazakhstan, it amounted to 76.4%, and with Kyrgyzstan, 50.1%.
"Kazakhstan decreased from 110 to 84 million, Kyrgyzstan from 29 to 14.6 million. In the case of Belarus, it increased from 188 to 205 million, and Russia from 7.9 billion to 12.4 billion," the minister noted.
Papoyan explained that the main reason for the decline in trade turnover with Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan is the trade of automobiles, which has been somewhat restricted due to regulations adopted by Russia.
