Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has stated that Armenia must “amend its constitution to eliminate territorial claims against Azerbaijan before signing a peace agreement.” He conveyed this point during a telephone conversation with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy.
Bayramov also insisted on dissolving the OSCE Minsk Group. The parties expressed confidence in the continued development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has expressed readiness to sign the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Previously, the Armenian Foreign Ministry accepted Azerbaijan's proposals on two previously unagreed articles, indicating that the peace agreement is ready for signing. Armenia is prepared to begin consultations on the timing and location of the signing. However, Baku has introduced new preconditions, stating it is premature to discuss meeting dates.
The draft peace agreement consists of 17 points, with 15 previously agreed upon. One unresolved point concerns mutual renunciation of international-level claims, and the other pertains to not deploying representatives of other countries on the Azerbaijan-Armenia border.
