Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan met with Anders Fogh Rasmussen, founder of the international political consultancy "Rasmussen Global" and former Secretary General of NATO, to discuss the latest developments in the region.
The main topic of discussion was the finalization of the draft text of a peace and interstate relations agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and the prospects of concluding the process.
Pashinyan underscored Armenia’s readiness to sign the agreement, emphasizing its aim to promote peace and stability in the region.
The talks also addressed Armenia's cooperation with the European Union and the ongoing domestic reforms supported by the EU.
Prime Minister Pashinyan has repeatedly stated that the draft peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan has been finalized and is awaiting signature. He has proposed that the President of Azerbaijan initiate consultations regarding its formal signing. On March 13, the Armenian Foreign Ministry announced it had accepted Azerbaijan’s proposals on the two previously unresolved articles, declaring the agreement ready for signing. Armenia is prepared to begin consultations on timing and location, while Baku has introduced new preconditions and stated it is too early to discuss meeting dates.
