Armenian humanitarian aid reaches Aleppo

Armenia has delivered humanitarian aid to Syria, which has now reached the city of Aleppo. The assistance was handed over to the Aleppo Municipality.

Armenia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Syria, Ruben Kharazyan, and Armenia’s Consul General in Aleppo, Ara Avetisyan, were present at the delivery.

To facilitate the humanitarian shipment to Syria, the Margara Bridge—the Armenia-Turkey border crossing closed for 32 years—was reopened from March 21 for ten days. A similar initiative took place in 2023 when Armenia transported 100 tons of humanitarian cargo to Turkey via the same bridge, which had been shut since 1993.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan stated that logistics for the land delivery of aid to Syria were discussed and agreed upon with Turkey through existing diplomatic channels.
