Pashinyan will destroy Armenia, former PM says

Hrant Bagratyan, former Prime Minister of Armenia, commented on the country's losses in football matches to Georgia, comparing them to the situation across various sectors in Armenia.

He emphasized that, historically, even great military leaders who achieved significant victories were dismissed after a single defeat, whereas in today's Armenia, this principle doesn't apply. The government, under its leader, continues to function and even takes pleasure in failures across all areas.

"Syunik people, there will be a corridor there, and for travel north and south of Armenia, you will have to stand in line at checkpoints. You talk about Nzhdeh. There are such people there. If you stand like men, this will not happen, because one day Pashinyan will have to stand and tell Aliyev that there is nothing he can do here, because the people are against. I don't think he will dare to do such a thing, because the people of Syunik will stand strong," said Bagratyan, as reported by Aravot.am .

Bagratyan also criticized Armenia's football federation, noting that there is no real motivation in the sport and raising questions about the participation of certain players and the selection of coaches.

According to him, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan knows very little about the economy and finances, and the people he has appointed to these fields are even less knowledgeable and less honest. He added that what is happening now is pushing Armenia toward ruin, as the country could eventually become divided into Northern and Southern Armenia.

Bagratyan urged the people to stand firm, stating that if the people do not express their position, it could lead to territorial losses and the destruction of Armenia.

"Pashinyan tells Aliyev, 'Calm down, don't demand so much. I will stay, and you will get everything.' This peace agreement will mark the beginning of concessions. This man will destroy Armenia. Because if he gives everything away, and all that's left of Armenia is, say, a town like Hrazdan, that town will demand accountability from Pashinyan. That’s why the people must show now, show that they are not fools," Bagratyan said.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has repeatedly stated that the draft peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan is already agreed upon and awaits final signing. He mentioned offering the Azerbaijani president consultations on the signing of the finalized draft agreement.

On March 13, Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it had accepted Azerbaijan’s proposals on two unresolved articles and that the peace agreement is ready for signing. The Ministry stated that Armenia is ready to begin consultations on the signing date and venue. However, new preconditions were raised from Baku, declaring it premature to discuss the meeting's dates.
