German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier has arrived in Armenia on an official visit, according to a statement from the Armenian Ministry of Economy.
The high-ranking guest was welcomed at Zvartnots International Airport in Yerevan by Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan, accompanied by Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan and Yerevan’s First Deputy Mayor Armen Pambukhchyan.
According to Armenpress, President Steinmeier visited the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial to honor the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
He laid a wreath at the memorial and placed flowers near the eternal flame that commemorates Genocide victims.
Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan accompanied the German President during the visit.
