Armenia’s Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan met with EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, Magdalena Grono, on April 3. The talks focused on security issues in the South Caucasus and the current regional challenges.
The two officials also exchanged views on the ongoing Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization process.
Grigoryan emphasized, “Armenia is ready to swiftly sign a Peace Agreement that will lead to regional stability and long-term peace.”
The meeting also addressed various aspects of the Armenia-EU partnership agenda.
On March 13, Armenia’s Foreign Ministry announced it had accepted Azerbaijan’s proposals regarding two previously unresolved articles of the draft peace agreement. The ministry said the agreement is now ready to be signed, and Armenia is open to discussing the date and location. However, Baku introduced new preconditions and stated that it is too early to set a date for the meeting.
