Highlighting the importance of addressing humanitarian issues, Armenia unconditionally provided Azerbaijan with 972 minefield records on June 12, July 3, October 19, November 1, and November 29, 2021. This was reported by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan, according to 1lurer.am.
Azerbaijan continues to request "accurate minefield maps" from Armenia, with Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ayhan Hajizadeh claiming that the maps provided by Armenia are only 25% accurate. In response, Badalyan stated that there are no "better or more accurate" maps available and that Armenia is ready to verify their accuracy with the involvement of international experts.
"Furthermore, remaining committed to the principles of cooperation on humanitarian issues, Armenia compiled and transmitted new minefield records to Azerbaijan at the beginning of 2024. Azerbaijan consistently questions the accuracy of these maps, despite our repeated statements that there are no 'better or more accurate' maps. Armenia, as before, is ready to verify the accuracy of these maps with the involvement of international experts. It should be added that the International Court of Justice unequivocally rejected Azerbaijan's request for provisional measures against Armenia, in which Azerbaijan accused Armenia of laying mines," she noted.
