Armenian President visits UAE for annual investment forum

President Vahagn Khachaturyan of Armenia is in the United Arab Emirates at the invitation of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Speaking at the Annual Investment Meeting in Abu Dhabi, Khachaturyan stated that Armenia offers one of the most open and attractive investment environments in the region.

“The deep and comprehensive reforms implemented by our government have created favorable conditions for attracting foreign investment. Armenia provides legal guarantees to foreign investors, including property protection, free movement of capital, and a transparent tax system,” said the president.

In recent years, Armenia has improved its standing in international indices, especially in areas such as democracy, human rights protection, anti-corruption efforts, economic freedom, and a liberal business and investment environment. Armenia has signed bilateral investment protection agreements with over 40 countries, including the UAE.

The country also offers several Free Economic Zones that create advantageous conditions for foreign investors. These zones provide tax incentives, simplified customs procedures, and access to regional markets.

“My delegation is here with specific investment projects, which my colleagues will present to you. We are ready for practical negotiations, establishing joint ventures, and sharing expertise and technology,” Khachaturyan said.

He also highlighted the importance of the Armenian government’s Crossroads of Peace initiative as a tool to promote regional peace and enhance economic ties.

The president added that unblocking all regional infrastructure in the South Caucasus—based on respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity, equality, and reciprocity—will offer exceptional opportunities for the movement of goods and people.

Khachaturyan is also scheduled to meet with top UAE officials during the visit.
