Blogger who beheaded Armenian says he’s no longer wanted

Kamil Zeynalli, an Azerbaijani fitness coach and blogger known for his anti-Armenian rhetoric and actions, claims that Armenia has dropped its search warrant for his arrest. According to him, the announcement was made during a report on an Azerbaijani media outlet.

"Recently, I received a call from the embassy, and they said, ‘Congratulations, the enemy has dropped its search efforts. Our state made this happen. Not only for me, but for several other individuals as well,’” Zeynalli said, as reported by Factor.am .

In February 2023, Zeynalli was detained at a Moscow airport but was released after approximately 7–8 hours and returned to Baku. He had been charged under several articles of the Armenian Criminal Code, including Article 135 (crimes against humanity), Article 137 (war crimes), Article 140 (war crimes using prohibited methods), Article 147 (recruitment of mercenaries), and Article 149 (aggression).

Zeynalli is known as one of the main organizers of attacks against Armenians in Russia during the 2020 Tavush clashes. During the 44-day war, he openly supported military operations against Artsakh and was reportedly involved in war crimes.

In 2020, during the war, he allegedly beheaded an Armenian in Artsakh, photographed the act, and shared it on his social media. Zeynalli also claimed he had been rewarded by the Azerbaijani government for crimes against Armenians, though he later said it was “just a joke.”
