RA security chief says border tensions monitored

Armen Grigoryan, Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, responded to reports of border shooting incidents, stating that any credible information linked to the security situation will be shared with the public.

He emphasized that the Ministry of Defense regularly issues updates on the border situation and refutes disinformation, as reported by Radar.am.

“We continue to propose the creation of a mechanism to investigate border incidents, and we’re working on this and speaking about it publicly,” Grigoryan stated.

Since March, the European Union Monitoring Mission in Armenia has increased the frequency of its night patrols along the border with Azerbaijan.

Starting from March 16, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense has been releasing multiple daily statements alleging gunfire from the Armenian side. Armenia’s Ministry of Defense has consistently denied these claims, which have also been dismissed by the EU monitoring mission.
