No Putin-Pashinyan-Aliyev meeting planned for May 9

There is no planned trilateral meeting in Moscow on May 9 between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, according to Armenian Prime Minister’s spokesperson Nazeli Baghdasaryan, Factor.am reports.

Some media reports said that President Putin will meet with Pashinyan and Aliyev ahead of the annual Victory Day parade on Red Square. The same reports also claimed that a trilateral document would be signed, which the Armenian government has also denied.

On March 13, Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it had accepted Azerbaijan’s proposals on two previously uncoordinated articles of the peace agreement and was ready to begin consultations on the signing date and location. However, Baku has since introduced new preconditions and declared it premature to discuss a meeting timeline.
