Vice President of the Armenian National Assembly Hakob Arshakyan met with Harivansh Narayan Singh, Deputy Speaker of the Indian Parliament, in Tashkent, presenting peace initiatives for the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, including the Crossroads of Peace project.
Members of the Indian delegation expressed their support for the initiative, emphasizing India's commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region.
The sides also discussed the enhancement of Armenian-Indian inter-parliamentary ties. Arshakyan highlighted the historic and respectful friendship between the two nations, underscoring the significance of the Armenia-India Friendship Group under his leadership in the Armenian parliament, which he said actively contributes to strengthening parliamentary cooperation.
In response, Harivansh Narayan Singh underlined the importance of developing bilateral relations and praised the formation of the India-Armenia Friendship Group, describing it as a step toward deepening cooperation and opening new opportunities. He specifically noted the symbolic importance of Armenian Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan's official visit to India in 2024 as a milestone in strengthening ties.
Arshakyan reiterated Armenia’s interest in mutually beneficial collaboration with India and noted the substantial potential across various fields. He invited Singh to visit Armenia.
