Tigran Abrahamyan, secretary of the I Have Honor parliamentary faction, wrote on his Facebook page that the current Armenian authorities have adopted an anti-Artsakh rhetoric in an effort to appease Azerbaijan.

"In recent days, various motivations have been discussed behind the government's actions generating hatred toward the people of Artsakh and Armenians in general. I believe that, at this stage, the foundation of this anti-Artsakh rhetoric lies in presenting a ‘gift’ to Azerbaijan. The final act in this effort might be the closure of the Artsakh representation office—a threat that has been repeatedly voiced since September 2023," Abrahamyan stated.

He claimed the government is attempting to trade its tough stance on Artsakh and the future of its people for a more favorable attitude from Baku.

On February 11, 2025, during a briefing in the National Assembly hallway, Speaker Alen Simonyan accused Artsakh residents of fleeing instead of fighting, saying: “They should have stayed and fought.” On April 17, MP Khachatur Sukiasyan claimed only 10 people were killed during Azerbaijan's military assault on Artsakh on September 19, 2023.
