Erik Helmsborn, member of the Swedish Parliament, delivered a video message on the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, urging Armenians to “remember the past and look to a bright future.”
As reported by Armenpress, Helmsborn recalled that the Swedish Parliament voted to recognize the Armenian Genocide back in 2010. “Every year, together with the Armenian Embassy in Stockholm, we commemorate the genocide victims. This year, the ceremony will feature Anne Grönhammar, author of the book Armenia’s Dream, Armenians and Swedes Through a Thousand Years. I haven’t read it yet, but I look forward to doing so,” he said.
He also highlighted the ongoing Armenian-Swedish business seminar in Stockholm, where bilateral trade and Swedish investment in Armenia are being discussed: “I believe this will benefit both countries and help us grow stronger and more prosperous. It will also build closer ties between Armenia, Sweden, and the rest of Europe.”
“Dear Armenian friends, Christian brothers and sisters, I wish you a day of dignified remembrance with your families and loved ones. Remember the past and look to a bright future. God bless you,” Helmsborn concluded.
