Former U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued a message on the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. Her statement was published on X, Armenpress reports.

"On Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day, we honor the memory of the 1.5 million Armenians killed during the horrific genocide 110 years ago," Pelosi wrote.

She recalled visiting Armenia in 2022 and said it was a great honor to be at the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial, paying respects to the innocent victims. Pelosi emphasized the need to continue shedding light on this brutal chapter of history.

"In 2019, the Democratic-led House officially recognized the Armenian Genocide — a long-overdue acknowledgment of truth and a lasting commitment to human rights," she added.
