French Prime Minister François Bayrou participated in a state ceremony in Paris on April 24 to mark the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

The commemoration took place at the Esplanade of Armenia, situated along the Seine River in central Paris, according to the Armenian Embassy in France.

Wreaths were presented by Prime Minister Bayrou, former Prime Minister Gabriel Attal, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, Armenia’s Ambassador to France Arman Khachatryan, and Hervé Marseille, Vice President of the France-Armenia Friendship Group, representing Senate President Gérard Larcher. Additionally, the co-chairs of the Coordinating Council of Armenian Organizations of France (CCAF) and other public and community figures also laid wreaths.

The ceremony featured speeches directed to the French-Armenian community by the CCAF co-chairs, Mayor Hidalgo, and Prime Minister Bayrou.

Numerous senior French officials were in attendance, including cabinet members, parliamentarians, senators, regional and departmental council members, mayors, and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in France.

Following the ceremony, the traditional march was held, with large participation from the French-Armenian community.
