The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) has declared its readiness to participate in demining efforts along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioğlu announced in Baku, according to Trend.
He emphasized that the organization possesses all necessary resources.
"We have the appropriate expertise and experience in the field of demining. We are ready to assist with demining efforts on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border if both parties express the will to cooperate. The OSCE is an organization of participating states. If both Armenia and Azerbaijan request our assistance, we have all necessary tools, experts, and approaches," Sinirlioğlu stated.
On January 16, Armenia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that an agreement had been reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan regarding a new section of border delimitation. The agreement envisions starting work from the northern section, where the borders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia meet, and continuing southward toward the Armenia-Azerbaijan border with Iran.
