Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that along with a peace agreement, it might be possible to sign a joint request with Azerbaijan to dissolve the structures of the OSCE Minsk Conference. He made this statement during a press conference organized on April 28 during his official visit to Estonia, according to Armenpress.
"Today, during a meeting with Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal and in an expanded format, we discussed recent geopolitical and regional developments. I would like to once again emphasize that the Republic of Armenia is determined to achieve lasting peace in the region. We are committed to taking the necessary steps, assuming the relevant responsibilities, and resolving existing issues with neighboring countries through constructive dialogue and negotiations. In this context, I presented the recent developments in the South Caucasus peace process and reiterated our expectation that Armenia’s peace agenda will eventually yield tangible results," he said.
Pashinyan expressed gratitude for Estonia’s positive response to the finalized text of the agreement aimed at establishing peace and interstate relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
"I have reaffirmed my readiness to sign the already agreed-upon text, also noting that I consider it possible to simultaneously sign with Azerbaijan a joint request for the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Conference structures along with the peace agreement," the Prime Minister said.
During the bilateral meeting with Pashinyan, Michal thanked him for making an official visit to Estonia and mentioned that the visit would give new momentum to the further development and strengthening of bilateral relations. The Estonian Prime Minister stated that his government is ready to take steps towards the development of bilateral trade and economic ties and the implementation of joint projects in various directions. Kaja Kallas also welcomed the Armenian Government’s broad reform agenda and expressed Estonia’s willingness to support its effective implementation.
