Sharvashidze: Armenia-Georgia ties reach historic high

The Ambassador of Georgia to Armenia, Giorgi Sharvashidze, commenting on the visit of Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili to Armenia, stated that relations between Armenia and Georgia have reached a historic high.

The ambassador noted that a busy working agenda is planned during the Georgian President’s visit, according to Armenpress, citing Sputnik Georgia.

The Georgian President has already met with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. A meeting is also scheduled with Zhanna Andreasyan, Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports.

"Relations between Armenia and Georgia are truly at a historic maximum," the ambassador declared.

*The visit of Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili to Armenia began on April 28.

On January 27, 2024, during a session of the Armenia-Georgia Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation chaired by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili in Tbilisi, a "Declaration on the Establishment of Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Armenia and Georgia" was signed.*
