Seismic tremors felt across Gegharkunik

A 2.8 magnitude earthquake struck near the town of Gavar in Armenia’s Gegharkunik Province on May 1 at 07:47 local time (03:47 GMT), according to the Seismic Protection Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The epicenter was located 13 kilometers southeast of Gavar, at a depth of 10 kilometers. The quake caused ground tremors of 3 to 4 intensity at the epicenter.

The seismic event was felt in several locations across the province, including the towns of Gavar and Martuni, and the villages of Yeranos, Vardadzor, Dzoragyugh, Sarukhan, Lanjaghbyur, and Gegharkunik, with an intensity of 2 to 3.

The coordinates of the earthquake were 40.25°N latitude and 45.20°E longitude.
