Iranian and Armenian officials reaffirmed the strength of bilateral relations during a May 18 meeting in Tehran between Secretary of Armenia’s Security Council Armen Grigoryan and Ali Akbar Ahmadian, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.
Ahmadian emphasized that Iran would not allow hostile forces to undermine its strategic partnership with Armenia. He noted that comprehensive cooperation between the two neighbors would contribute to regional peace and stability, Armenpress reported, citing Tasnim News.
He further stressed that Iran would not permit any damage to the positive relations between the two countries.
Ahmadian also highlighted the need to fully implement joint projects agreed upon by Tehran and Yerevan.
For his part, Grigoryan expressed gratitude to Iran for its continued support, stating that the expansion of Armenian-Iranian relations depends solely on the two nations and not on external influences.
The Armenian official also praised the role of Iran’s private sector in contributing to Armenia’s economic and energy projects.
During his working visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Armen Grigoryan also met with newly appointed Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. The two officials welcomed the steady development of bilateral relations and underscored the importance of increased reciprocal visits.
