The opposition Armenia parliamentary faction has formally declined participation in official trips led by National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan, citing his recent statements as the reason.
In a letter addressed to Simonyan, Armenia faction leader Seyran Ohanyan informed that their colleagues would not join delegations headed by him. Faction secretary Artsvik Minasyan elaborated that Simonyan's "anti-state and anti-Armenian statements" were deemed unacceptable, prompting their decision to avoid being part of his delegations, as reported by Aysor.am .
David Arakelyan, Chief of Staff and Secretary General of the National Assembly, noted that while travel proposals are presented to MPs in advance, the Armenia faction consistently declines participation.
