Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan announced that there are currently no discussions underway regarding increasing the retirement age in Armenia. He made this statement during preliminary discussions on the implementation of the 2024 state budget at the National Assembly.

"However, we do have a legislative package in circulation that we plan to discuss soon. One of its provisions would give our pensioners the option to voluntarily defer receiving their pension, with the expectation of receiving higher payments later," Mkrtchyan stated, according to 1lurer.am .

The minister also addressed the issue of pension refunds, noting that approximately 320,000 beneficiaries currently use the existing reimbursement mechanism.
