Authorities don't take steps to restore voters' trust
According to preliminary estimations made by observers of the "Your choice" non-governmental organization, during the elections to the Yerevan City Council on May 31 the authorities did not take any step to restore voters' trust, eradicate the habit of falsifications and bring the elections to norms of democratic state, representatives of Your Choice Harutiun Hambardzumyan and Hasmik Sargsyan told a news conference today.
According to Hasmik Sargsyan, press secretary of "Your Choice", violations and falsifications, misuse of administrative resources, application of force towards journalists and observers, throw a shadow on the whole process of elections.
In his turn, Haroutyun Arakelyan brought many examples of violations, recorded by NGO observers and mentioned, that despite them, the elections, and particularly pre-election campaign passed in more peaceful atmosphere, than previously.
