Census: over 95% follow Armenian Apostolic Church

The latest census results show that nearly 95.4% of Armenia's population—2,793,042 people—identify as followers of the Armenian Apostolic Church. These figures were released by Armenia's Statistical Committee based on data from the census conducted between October 13–22, 2022.

The census also reveals the country's religious diversity.

According to published data, 0.6% of Armenia’s population, or 17,501 individuals, did not indicate any religious affiliation, Panorama.am reports.

Roman Catholics make up 0.61% of the population, totaling 17,884 people.

The number of Orthodox Christians is 6,316, or 0.22%, while Evangelicals account for 0.54%, with 15,836 adherents.

The Sharfadin faith is also represented in Armenia, with 0.49% of the population, or 14,349 followers.

Additionally, 1.7% of the population—49,353 individuals—chose not to disclose their religious affiliation during the census.
