Azerbaijani delegations to visit Armenia soon: Pashinyan

During a meeting with Armenian reporters in Hamburg, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that Azerbaijani delegations are expected to visit Armenia soon. He emphasized that Armenia’s policy of balanced diplomacy is yielding tangible results, according to “Pastinfo”.

“This year, two official Armenian delegations have already visited Azerbaijan. I’m confident the Azerbaijani delegations will also come to Armenia soon. A train has already entered Armenia through Azerbaijan. I’ve read in the press that oil imports are being discussed. This is what balanced foreign policy looks like, and it’s successful. Why should we reject this success? We must build on it,” Pashinyan said.

He reiterated that Armenia’s engagement with the European Union is not intended as a counter to its relations with Russia or the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU): “They said, ‘How can that be?’ Well, it can, and it is.”

Pashinyan highlighted that the 2021 government program includes a special section on regionalization, reaffirming the strategic importance of regional cooperation.

“This year, I’ve had meetings and interactions with leaders of all our neighboring countries. Some were formal visits, others informal, but also official and working visits,” he noted, listing recent destinations including Moscow, Washington, Beijing, Tokyo, Istanbul, France, Germany, Kazakhstan, Sharm El-Sheikh, Abu Dhabi, Denmark, and Georgia.

The Prime Minister underscored that Armenia’s regional policy continues through active cooperation with neighboring states, not only via diplomatic visits but also through emerging infrastructure links, such as newly opened rail routes.

According to Pashinyan, these developments show that Armenia’s foreign policy can successfully maintain balanced relations in multiple directions without antagonizing any party.
