Economic activity grows 9.1% in 2025

Armenia's economic activity rose by 9.1% in 2025 compared to the previous year, according to official data released by the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia.

The industrial sector expanded by 4.7%, reaching a total production volume of 3 trillion 327 billion 745.1 million drams. Agricultural gross output rose by 5.6% from January to December, amounting to 1 trillion 57 billion 224 million drams, Armenpress reports.

Construction recorded the highest growth among sectors, increasing by 20.2% to a total of 810 billion 676.1 million drams. Trade turnover grew by 3% to 6 trillion 789 billion 902.9 million drams.

The volume of services provided rose by 10.5% during the year, totaling 4 trillion 89 billion 742.4 million drams.

During the same period, the consumer price index increased by 3.3%, and the industrial product price index rose by 3.8%. Electricity production grew by 3.4%.

The average nominal monthly wage increased by 5.6%, reaching 303,140 drams. In the public sector, average salaries rose by 6.5% to 239,369 drams, while in the private sector they grew by 5.1%, reaching 327,604 drams.

Meanwhile, foreign trade volume fell by 29% in 2025, totaling $21 billion 430.3 million. Exports dropped by 36.1%, while imports decreased by 23.6%.

The average exchange rate of the dram against the U.S. dollar was 387.01 drams.

In January–November 2025, Armenian exports fell by 40.6%, totaling $7 billion 349 million 13.6 thousand. These figures were published by the Statistical Committee of Armenia.

Overall, foreign trade turnover stood at $18 billion 908 million 366.3 thousand, a 33.2% decrease compared to the same period in 2024. Imports also declined by 27.4%, reaching $11 billion 559 million 352.7 thousand.
