Young violinist Eduard Dayan wins grand prix

Young Armenian violinist Eduard Dayan has been awarded the Grand Prix at the 3rd Interregional Open Competition for String Instrument Performers named after Wilhelm Speth.

The competition took place in Omsk, Russia. The program included the “Violin,” “Viola,” and “Cello” categories, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports reported.

Dayan won first prize in the “Violin” category. He was awarded the Grand Prix following a final selection among the first-prize winners of the three categories.

As part of the gala concert, Dayan performed Niccolò Paganini’s Violin Concerto No. 1, appearing with the Omsk Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of conductor Mikhail Golikov.

Eduard Dayan is a member of the “Meknark” targeted talent development program and is currently continuing his studies at the Zakhar Bron Academy in Switzerland.

More than 200 young musicians aged 7 to 23 participated in the competition.

The 3rd Interregional Open Competition named after Wilhelm Speth has become an important platform for the creative growth and professional development of young performers, bringing together talented musicians from various regions.
