Armenia’s government will allocate 545 million drams to support video monitoring of the upcoming parliamentary elections.
The funds will be provided to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) to organize the regular National Assembly elections scheduled for June 7, according to a draft decision included on the government’s meeting agenda, Factor.am reported.
With the allocated amount, the CEC will purchase video cameras, technical equipment and software needed to record voting at polling stations where the number of voters exceeds 300.
CEC Chairman Vahagn Hovakimyan said on March 11 that polling stations with more than 300 voters will have video broadcasts during the elections. This means coverage for around 1,800 polling stations.
