
Armenia’s Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan and Iran’s Ambassador to Armenia Khalil Shirgholami discussed cooperation between Armenian universities and Iranian academic institutions, as well as the teaching of Persian in Armenian schools as a regional language.
The sides particularly emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting the cultural and literary heritage of both nations through translation programs, organizing reciprocal concerts, and implementing joint initiatives in the film industry.
They also addressed issues related to student exchange programs, expanding scholarships and the mutual recognition of diplomas.
Andreasyan recalled the anniversary concert dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra, which was held in September last year at Iran’s Persepolis complex, and expressed gratitude for the warm reception and high level of organization.
According to her, during the visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian to Armenia, several bilateral cooperation documents were signed.
For his part, Ambassador Khalil Shirgholami thanked the minister for the meeting, noting that there is significant potential for cooperation in the areas coordinated by the ministry and that efforts will be made to realize these opportunities and implement the signed agreements.
Both sides also highlighted the importance of deepening cooperation in the literary and cultural spheres to preserve and promote the heritage of the two peoples. They stressed the importance of translation programs, reciprocal concerts and joint initiatives in the film sector.
