
Armenia’s weightlifting representatives will compete at the European Championships to be held in Batumi, Georgia, from April 19 to 26. The Weightlifting Federation of Armenia has announced the final lineups of the national teams.
The women’s team includes Tanzela Grigoryan and Izabella Yaylyan in the 53 kg category, Alexandra Grigoryan in 58 kg, Anna Amroyan and Alina Sukiasyan in 77 kg, Emma Poghosyan and Liana Gyurjyan in 86 kg, and Tatev Hakobyan in the over-86 kg category. The team’s head coach is Artashes Nersisyan, while Taron Tovmasyan is the assistant coach.
The men’s team includes Garnik Cholakyan in 60 kg, Gor Sahakyan in 71 kg, Martin Poghosyan in 79 kg, Rafik Harutyunyan in 88 kg, Ara Aghanyan in 94 kg, Simon Martirosyan and Garik Karapetyan in 110 kg, and Varazdat Lalayan in the over-110 kg category. The team’s head coach is Hakob Pilosyan, and Davit Muradyan is the assistant coach.
