The Strong Armenia party has decided to form an alliance with two new political forces to reshape the country’s political system.

According to Narek Karapetyan, a party member and nephew of leader Samvel Karapetyan, the alliance will include the “I Am Armenia” initiative led by Nairi Sargsyan and the newly established “New Era” party headed by Harutyun Harutyunyan, Factor.am reports.

“What we have today is the result of the imperfections of our political system, and we must give new opportunities to young and high-potential forces to bring qualitative changes to the country,” Narek Karapetyan said.

He noted that the cooperation is aimed at implementing meaningful changes in the political landscape.

“Mr. Sargsyan brings financial expertise, and Mr. Harutyunyan has a legal background. We believe reforms should be driven by professional competence. Politicians should not be only professional politicians; they must have real-life experience to understand sectors. Our vision of this alliance is based precisely on professionalism,” he added.

Samvel Karapetyan has been named as the alliance’s candidate for prime minister. At the same time, it was emphasized that he cannot formally run for the position due to holding citizenship in multiple countries. His political force intends to overcome this restriction by initiating constitutional amendments if it wins the elections.

Parliamentary elections in Armenia are scheduled for June 7, 2026.
