Olympic bronze medalist, two-time world champion and four-time European champion Malkhas Amoyan said he will aim to win his fifth gold medal at the upcoming European Championship in Tirana on April 20–26.
“We have held strong training camps, this is already the fifth one. I am in good shape, and how I have prepared and what I am worth will be shown on the mat. The responsibility is even greater when you go to the competition as the reigning European champion. Everyone is more motivated and prepared to face you, which makes things harder. But I will try to do everything to win my fifth gold medal at the European Championship. In my weight class, there are 6–7 strong competitors aiming for the title. Whoever is in better shape and performs better on the day will win,” Malkhas Amoyan said in comments to reporters, according to Factor.am .
