Armenia’s junior national team member Narek Mkrtchyan became a silver medalist at the world weightlifting championships.

Competing in Egypt, Mkrtchyan lifted 145 kg and 150 kg in the snatch event. In the clean and jerk, he successfully raised 182 kg and 186 kg overhead.

He finished third in the clean and jerk discipline, according to the Weightlifting Federation.

With a total result of 336 kg in the combined event, Mkrtchyan claimed the world championship silver medal.
