Yerevan announces start of direct commerce with Turkey

Armenia’s Economy Ministry has addressed the business community, announcing the launch of direct trade between Armenia and Turkey.

“As of May 11, 2026, direct trade between Armenia and Turkey has officially commenced.

As a result, an opportunity has been created to carry out direct trade turnover between the two countries, which will contribute to a significant reduction in costs and delivery times, while expanding new markets and cooperation opportunities for businesses,” the ministry said in a statement.

It also noted that even in cases where goods are transported through third countries, the country of origin or final destination may officially be indicated as “Armenia” or “Turkey.”

For additional questions, businesses may contact the ministry at 011597211.

On May 13, Turkey’s Foreign Ministry announced that all preparatory work necessary for the launch of direct trade with Armenia had been completed. Armenia’s Foreign Ministry welcomed Turkey’s decision to lift restrictions on bilateral trade with Armenia.
