Nine Armenian animated films have been included this year in the “Classics” section of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, officially known as Festival international du film d'animation d'Annecy.

The following films are featured in the program:

• Lyudmila Sahakyants — “Echo”, “The Mice Meeting”
• Gayane Martirosyan — “Happy End”
• Stepan Galstyan — “Unlucky Panos”, “Corridor”
• Valentin Podpomogov — “Parvana”
• Robert Sahakyants — “The Axe”, “Push Button”
• Ella Avagyan — “The Giant Who Dreamed of Playing the Violin”

These films played an important role in the history of Armenian animation, shaping its distinctive language and artistic identity.

Their inclusion in the Annecy Classics program offers another opportunity to introduce the Armenian animation school to international audiences. The school has a rich history and is regarded as one of the world’s leading animation traditions.

The program is being implemented jointly by the Armenian Film Foundation and the ReA (ReAnimania International Animation Film & Comics Art Festival of Yerevan).
