Freestyle wrestler Suren Ishkhanyan defeated an Azerbaijani opponent at the European Under-17 Championships and secured a place in the final.

The European U17 Championships are being held in Bulgaria.

Freestyle wrestler Suren Ishkhanyan claimed an early victory over Azerbaijan’s Abbas Shafiyev by technical superiority and advanced to the final of the European Under-17 Championships.

The bout ended with a score of 15-4.

The Armenian wrestler will compete for the gold medal.

The European Under-17 Wrestling Championships are taking place in Samokov, Bulgaria, from May 11 to 17.
