
Searches were carried out at the Avan district offices of the Strong Armenia alliance, and five individuals were detained, Armenia’s Anti-Corruption Committee said, according to Factor.am .
The committee stated that the searches were conducted within the framework of a criminal investigation launched over alleged vote-buying and acceptance of election bribes.
“The searches are being conducted as part of criminal proceedings initiated by the Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia regarding alleged cases of giving and receiving election bribes. Five individuals have been detained. Additional information will be provided if necessary,” the committee said.
The election campaign that began on May 8 will continue until June 5. June 6 will be observed as a day of silence, while elections will take place on June 7.
