Armenian Central Bank Chairman Martin Galstyan said inflation has not become a dominant issue during the country’s election campaign, citing information received from various sources.
“There is no concern among the population that the Central Bank’s policy is inappropriate and that we are going to face inflation. For example, in many countries — Turkey, the U.S., developed, underdeveloped and developing states — inflation becomes the number one dominant issue in political debate during election campaigns,” he stressed, according to Sputnik Armenia.
Galstyan stated that thanks to the management policies pursued in recent years, inflation in Armenia has remained under control, though he did not rule out the possibility of painful shocks in the future.
Inflation in Armenia continued to accelerate during the first months of 2026 and reached 5.3 percent in April.
