Observer mission reports misuse of administrative resources

The Akanates observer mission has published the results of its monitoring of the pre-election phase of the June 7 parliamentary elections, covering the period from May 6-22, recording cases of possible misuse of administrative resources, involvement of minors and aggressive rhetoric.

In particular, observers documented cases involving the participation of employees of educational institutions in campaign activities, as well as separate instances where students were excused from classes.

Cases involving the participation of minors were recorded during events organized by several political forces.

“The report also recorded possible cases of pressure by employers, as well as manifestations of polarizing and aggressive rhetoric during the campaign,” the statement said.

The election campaign that began on May 8 will continue until June 5. June 6 will be a day of silence, and elections will take place on June 7. On May 25, it became known that the Alliance Progressive Centrist Party had submitted a withdrawal request, after which the Central Electoral Commission invalidated the registration of the party’s electoral list. Ballot paper number 13 will not appear in the upcoming elections.
