Republic Party outlines economic priorities

Republic party prime ministerial candidate Aram Sargsyan, speaking with residents in Dilijan Square about the party’s election platform, said his political force is participating in the elections to restore Armenia’s economy and strengthen the army with new weapons.

“Our country has enormous reserves of mineral resources, our mountains are full of fresh water, and we also possess huge human and scientific potential. If we fully combine these resources, we can quadruple or quintuple our budget and in five years have a budget twice as large as Azerbaijan’s,” he said, according to Armenpress.

Aram Sargsyan also said his party proposes building reservoirs in Armenia.

“We are going to the National Assembly to work, to bring legislative initiatives and revive Armenia’s economy. Our presence in parliament will change the atmosphere there and the topics of discussion,” he said.

He added that the party also plans to introduce legislation making amnesty mandatory every five years in order to improve conditions in penitentiary institutions.

“We will bring to parliament projects that can provide legal and legislative solutions to the issues concerning people. We are going to serve you, dear people,” Sargsyan said.

He urged Dilijan residents to participate in the elections and vote for the Republic party.

“I assure you that we will work in such a way that you will be proud of your vote. Our presence in parliament will further increase attention toward Dilijan. There are cities whose development raises the rating of the whole country, and Dilijan is one of them,” Aram Sargsyan added.

The election campaign that began on May 8 will continue until June 5. June 6 will be a day of silence, and elections will take place on June 7. On May 25, it became known that the Alliance Progressive Centrist Party had submitted a withdrawal request, after which the Central Electoral Commission invalidated the registration of the party’s electoral list. Ballot paper number 13 will not appear in the upcoming elections.
