Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov commented on Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s recent remarks that Armenia plans to “become rich.”
“If Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan believes that Armenia plans to become wealthy, then let him ensure that happens,” Lavrov said, adding that he could not further comment on the Armenian leader’s statements, according to RBC.
Earlier, during a campaign event in Garni, Pashinyan stated that Armenia was not afraid of a possible rise in raw material prices in the event of worsening relations with Russia because the country intends to prosper economically.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that Moscow had warned Armenia about the possible suspension of agreements on the supply of gas, petroleum products and diamonds if Yerevan joins the European Union.
