
Several cases involving alleged double voting and violations of ballot secrecy have been recorded during Armenia’s parliamentary elections on June 7, with procedural actions underway in response.
According to official data, authorities documented six cases of double voting and five cases involving violations of voting secrecy. Materials related to these incidents have been forwarded to investigative bodies.
Six individuals have been arrested, according to Armenia’s Migration and Citizenship Service.
A total of 121 reports concerning suspected electoral violations are currently being reviewed. In addition, information published in the media and on social media platforms regarding the elections is also being examined.
The service also released data on its operational activities during the election process.
A total of 1,326 people submitted applications to be included in supplementary voter lists. Meanwhile, 752 individuals obtained temporary identity documents (Form 9), which are issued by local authorities to enable participation in elections.
The Call Center (84-22) operated by the Migration and Citizenship Service received 820 calls related to the organization and conduct of the elections.
In addition, 316 citizens received consultations through the service’s regional offices and mobile service units.
Regular National Assembly elections are underway in Armenia. The country’s 2,005 polling stations opened at 8:00 a.m. The voter registry includes 2,485,851 registered voters. Polling stations will remain open until 8:00 p.m.
A total of 18 political forces are participating in the parliamentary elections: two electoral alliances and 16 political parties. The electoral threshold is 4% for parties and 8% for alliances.
