Armenian Ambassador to the United States Narek Mkrtchyan met with William Cunningham, Director of the International Programs Office of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), to discuss prospects for bilateral cooperation in the field of geology.

During the meeting, the sides reviewed the experience of establishing the U.S. Geological Survey, explored potential areas of cooperation based on that experience, and discussed prospects for expanding Armenia-U.S. cooperation in the field of rare and critical minerals.

The discussion also highlighted the importance of cooperation within the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Charter signed in May, as well as the framework memorandum on securing supply chains for the extraction and processing of critical minerals and rare earth elements.
