Armenia, Georgia seek closer security cooperation

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan welcomed Georgian Interior Minister Sulkhan Tamazashvili to Armenia and underscored the importance of steadily developing cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Armenia and Georgia.

Pashinyan said there is considerable untapped potential in bilateral relations, adding that mutual visits and regular contacts between senior officials help unlock that potential.

He also stressed the importance of joint projects between the interior ministries of the two countries, particularly in combating crime and illicit drug trafficking, as well as further strengthening internal security.

Tamazashvili said he had held productive discussions with his Armenian counterparts, including on the implementation of joint initiatives. In his view, these projects will provide fresh momentum to bilateral relations and help both countries respond more effectively to existing challenges.

The two sides also exchanged views on the further development of Armenia-Georgia cooperation and future steps across a range of sectors.
