Avetik Chalabyan, coordinator of the Hayakve National Civic Union, has said that every subsequent action by the current authorities that he described as "anti-Armenian" and "anti-state" will face growing resistance.

In a letter sent from Armavir Penitentiary, Chalabyan wrote that, in his view, this trend would become evident in the coming months.

"The current pro-Turkish authorities, by using the Constitutional Court to impose the disgraceful July 4 decision, which is unconstitutional in its very essence, have effectively challenged the majority of our people, who voted against the authorities despite widespread threats and repression. However, they brazenly appropriated the people's vote by using every possible and impossible instrument of what I describe as mandate theft.

What remains for the forces representing the majority of the people? Not to recognize the legitimacy of these authorities, to regard them as an occupation regime imposed from outside, and to use every possible peaceful means to prevent further attempts to place our country under Turkish-Azerbaijani domination.

Unlike previous years, even after taking control of the National Assembly, these authorities no longer enjoy the support of the people, and every subsequent anti-Armenian and anti-state step they take will face growing resistance.

We will see this in the coming months. Until then, we must learn the lessons of what has happened and strengthen our ranks in order to emerge victorious at the next available opportunity," the letter states.

Earlier, the Constitutional Court rejected a complaint filed by seven political forces. Under the final election results, seats in parliament were allocated as follows: Civil Contract — 64 seats, Strong Armenia — 29 seats, and the Hayastan Alliance — 12 seats.
