GEORGIAN FOREIGN MINISTER FEELS FOR ARMENIANS SUFFERING FROM GENOCIDE BUT CALLS ON THEM TO «TURN TO FUTURE»
«The events at the beginning of XX were really bloody, tragic and it is impossible not to feel for people who suffered such losses». As «Arminfo» reports with reference to Baku «Trend» agency, Georgian foreign minister Irakli Menagarishvili stated this, speaking about his country's position regarding the Armenian genocide in Ottoman Turkey. «At the same time, speaking about these historic events, we always emphasize that it is better to focus on the future, look for common approaches and anything that unifies us», Menagarashvili said. He noted that in this case the issues on regional cooperation would be settled in much more constructive way. Expressing his opinion regarding the idea on granting autonomy to Javakhateia regions populated by Armenians, Menagarishvili said, «We do not now anything about this demand. There were some speculations but at the meetings of their representatives, Armenians stated there was no need for such a demand».
